Reiwa's focus on education for empowerment is driven by the supreme importance of educating all Nigerians for sustainable, self-reliant and equitable  development in the twenty-first century.

There are few or no books in the majority of rural public schools. So rote learning, inimical to self-reliant development and creative thinking, often prevails. Most rural schools lack knowledge of computers and, importantly, the Internet. The impoverished majority is  excluded from the educational and livelihood benefits of the world wide web's vast information.

The Nigerian government is putting in place important reforms.

REIWA's participatory and highly interactive e-learning strategies, integrating ICTs in the core school curriculum as well as in literacy instruction, offer a low cost way forward that invests in human capacity development through training teachers, children, women and youth in interactive e-learning. May the result be  quality education, more productive livelihoods, economic growth and empowerment of marginalised communities.

Crossing the digital divide, ICTs for All, is the way forward!
